Cholesterol:
Cholesterol is found in every cell in your body. This fat-like substance is an important component of cell membranes and a building block in the formation of some hormones. Your body makes all the cholesterol it needs. Any cholesterol in your diet is extra — and it's up to no good.
When there's too much cholesterol in your blood, you may develop fatty deposits in your blood vessels. Eventually, these deposits make it difficult for enough blood to flow through your arteries. Your heart may not get as much oxygen-rich blood as it needs, which increases the risk of a heart attack. Decreased blood flow to your brain can cause a stroke.
There's good news. High blood cholesterol (hypercholesterolemia) is largely preventable. A healthy diet, regular exercise and other lifestyle changes can go a long way toward reducing high cholesterol. Sometimes medication is needed, too.
Superior Proprietary Formula:
- Special combinations of important ingredients working synergistically as a unique and comprehensive formula that that supports healthy cholesterol levels.
- A broad range of nutrients and phytonutrients that may help with heart functioning, and supports healthy influences on cholesterol and other potential heart disease risk factors.
- An effective core supplement that would ideally be combined with targeted dietary adjustments, exercise and relaxation techniques.
- Encourage anti-inflammatory effects.
Research supports the potentially beneficial effects of this formula through:
- Healthy cholesterol effects: Beta Sitosterol, inositol nicotinate and pantethine may help to reduce cholesterol levels by reducing cholesterol absorption and influencing cholesterol metabolism.
- Anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant effects: The phytonutrients in turmeric and ginger have been associated with anti-inflammatory effects. Green tea and vitamin E (as mixed tocopherols) have been shown to have potent anti-oxidant effects. Since we now know that heart disease is an inflammatory process, phytonutrients that have anti-inflammatory effects may be beneficial. Oxidation of LDL or ‘bad’ cholesterol is known to be a step in the process of atherosclerosis or plaque formation. The inclusion of anti-oxidant nutrients may therefore be beneficial by helping to decrease this process.
- General support for heart functioning: Magnesium, hawthorn and garlic may support the heart in different ways that may be beneficial. For example, magnesium is important for blood sugar regulation, energy generation within cells and may have helpful effects for calming and/or regulating nerve and muscle function. Hawthorn is an herbal product that may have multiple effects that may be helpful for the heart including blood flow effects and protection from damage. Finally, garlic may also be beneficial through mild influences on blood pressure, plaque formation and/or cholesterol levels.
Cholesterol level is known to be one of the most important risk factors for heart disease. Other factors include weight, blood pressure, diabetes, lack of exercise and smoking. Newer factors that may be important include, inflammation, homocysteine, Lpa and others. This formula may work best by including it in an effective lifestyle program. Consult your physician for specific guidelines and recommendations.
